How I’m Using AI to Turn Engineering Ideas Into Applications Without a Coding Background
My interest in digital improvement began before today’s AI tools. I used Excel automation, structured databases and Power BI because I wanted to make repetitive work more consistent and operational information easier to understand.
The problem came before the technology
The starting point was never “Which tool should I use?” It was: what is repeated, inconsistent, difficult to review or unnecessarily manual? Understanding the workflow made it possible to design a useful solution.
AI-assisted development changed what I could build
I do not come from a traditional software-development background. Modern AI-assisted methods allowed me to describe requirements, iterate on interfaces, test behavior and turn ideas into working applications that were previously beyond my reach.
AI helped me move from being only a user of technology to someone who can build practical solutions with it.
From Excel to an Android application
My personal Trip Record project shows this evolution clearly. It began as an Excel record, developed into a Microsoft Access solution and later became an Android application that I could use on the move.
Learning through application
Each build exposes the next gap in understanding. That is why my learning approach is simple: learn, apply, build and improve. The application is not the end of the lesson; it is the environment in which the lesson becomes practical.
